Where I’m Gonna Go
Words and music by Noel Olken © 2006 Noel Olken
I’m living in a world I can’t understand
I have a job, it’s very taxing
And I’m sharing this room, with someone I don’t know
And I’m wondering, where I’m gonna go.
I’m standing in a valley, in a sea of blue and green
And the mountains that surround me, are calm and serene
I know that I must climb one, but which one I can’t tell
Oh, the climbing will be easy, it’s the deciding which one that’s hell.
So I wait for the right time, when the right wind blows,
And I’m wondering, where I’m gonna go.
I’m standing on the highway, which to me are so amazing
Cause I’ve traveled them and I’ve loved them, these arteries of the country
I’ve baked in the sun, and froze in the rain
Slept on your shoulders and woken with pain,
But I would do it all again you know,
And soon, soon there will be snow,
And I’m wondering, where I’m gonna go.
I’m sitting in a room with purple candles burning
The walls have tear drop windows, a chandelier is turning
How strange that this museum is devoted to my past
With out having paid the price I should have paid
As the walls melt away and the teardrops flow like blood
I find myself up to my knees in mud
I’m sinking, but very, very slow,
And I’m wondering, where I’m gonna go.
I’m living in a world I can’t understand
I have a job, it’s very taxing
And I’m sharing this room, with someone I don’t know
And I’m wondering, where I’m gonna go.
